Artist Statement

Colour, with all its rich variation and emotional quality, is the essence of my lyrical abstract painting. Luminous transparent oil colours in finely blended layers are applied with meditative attention while in a state of flow and timelessness.  Contrasts of darkness and light, brilliance and subtlety are used to reflect beauty, mystery, and the wonder of life.  Viewers are invited to pause in stillness, be immersed in the expanse of colour, and linger in free association and interpretation.
